                 California Chapter

Product Image California is our 2nd largest chapter. A few of our best and most experienced trip/expedition leaders are from California and a few of our major trips are in California each year on in a close by state.

One huge benefit for California members is that we will pay the 1st $15 of their Cal4WD membership. So as a member of Jeep Expeditions, California members only have to pay $30 for their annual Cal4WD (normally $45) in addition to their annual Club dues. Cal4WD membership runs from July 1s to June 30th each year and offers lots of extra benefits and events all over the state. Cal4WD is probaly the biggest, most active most professional of any state 4WD association.

One of our favorite annual Expeditons is our 8 days in Death Valley which draws as many as two dozen members each year. Because Death Valley is so vast and has thousands of miles of trails, each year is different from the last.

Another California favorite is the California Gold Country Expedition which is scheduled again for 2017.

So why Jeep Expeditions? Why not, you pay for those for profit and other professional off-road guide companies hundreds, even thousands of dollars for just one weekend or longer trip. The BIG difference, Jeep Expeditions, with the exception of Native American lands where we have to pay for guides and permits, are 100% FREE ! And our Trips are every bit as good, even better than the paid ones. Join us and see how Jeep owners just like you "Live the Adventure"

State Chapters have their own boards on our Members only forum to discuss state related issues and also to post local day and weekend trips.

Webmaster and Founder of Jeep Expeditions: Mike Fissel

Product Image I live in Mesa, AZ and am a transplant from the east coast. What I have learned in my 11 years in AZ is that if you love the outdoors and off-roading in your Jeep, there is NO better place in the world to live ! I have been off-roading for over 30 years and currently own 3 running Jeeps.

The Expedition vehicle I started with Jeep Expeditions in 2006 was  a "vintage" 1982 Jeep Wagoneer FSJ or for you newbies, Full Size Jeep. It was the Limited model with 7" of lift via TTsFabworks SOA and shackle flip, 33" BFG Mudders, ARB and Detroit Lockers, 4.56 gearing, custom rack, bumpers and other goodies from satellite radio, GPS navigation via my Garmin GPSMap 176C and Panasonic GPS enabled Toughbook laptop with Topo programs, CB and Ham radio set ups and more. It is pictured to the right, pulling my M101/416 Jeep Trailer loaded with gear. I nicknamed it "The War Wagon" after one of my favorite John Wayne movies, my friends just call it "The Beast".

Oh and my Ham radio call sign K7FSJ.....  for Full Size Jeep or Fun Size Jeep!

My current Expedition Vehicles are a 98 Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited with a 7" long arm lift, 99 TJ Wrangler with a 4" lift and an 88 Grand Wagoneer with a 3" lift.

What was my 1st "Expedition Vehicle" ? It's the upper right picture. A 98 Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited, pretty much stock other than 2x4 Tomkin Rock Rails Pictured coming over one of many hills in Bull Canyon, Moab, UT. That was 6 years before the 1st Jeep Expeditons Trip.

Jeep Expeditions is the PREMIERE Jeep Exclusive Expedition/Overland Adventure CLUB Anywhere!

Jeep Expeditions is a non-profit corporation registered in the State of Arizona.

The state recognizes us as a fraternal organization,  we prefer to say we are a club.  Our members and volunteers are dedicated to the exploration  this great land  for the educational value, historical value,  scenic beauty, the geology, paleontology, the camaraderie of people who share the same interests and to escape the confines of civilization if only for a few days. Our organization and members adhere to the standards of "Tread Lightly" and "Leave No Trace".

Jeep Expedition Members enjoy adventures that vary in length from one day, a weekend, long weekend, week long, two weeks and like our Arctic Expedition in 2011, a full month. Don't worry, most of our trips are one day and two day trips. We are Family Friendly and we have a number of members who bring their friendly "Jeep Dogs".
