MeatBalls in Marinara Sauce

Who doesn't like a MeatBall sub with marinara sauce? Get them often at that famous sub shop for $5 and wondered how my $1.98 Hormel Sandwich Maker meatballs would taste.

Again, I was excited to see this as one of Hormels Sandwich Makers offerings.

Everything heated as instructed, I wondered what I would have when the cover was peeled off and what my sandwich "topping" would look like.

I choose to use every day hot dog buns. We cooked two packages for the two of us. With great anticipation, I pulled the plastic film off of the containers. They looked great and ready to eat. One of the packages had 7 meatballs and the other had 8. It took 4 meatballs to line a hot dog bun end to end and of course you have to spoon some of the marinara in your roll too..

So how is this Hormel Meal? First bite and the taste was very good. The sauce was described by my fiancee as resembling the taste of the sauce in a can of "Beef-a-Roni and was just right, I thought it could use a bit more spice to it but that it probably the Italian in me. The sauce had a good consistency. The meatballs were the perfect size for my choice of rolls, had a very good taste and were not "watered down" by excessive use of fillers. My 6" Hormel subs were every bit as good as the famous sub shop ones.

If you like a meatball sub, you are sure to enjoy this one on your next camping trip.

Makes 2 sandwiches on your typical store brand hot dog buns using 4 meatballs per sandwich, perfect for one person.

Looks Great when the cover comes off !                  Stir it up a bit and its Perfect !

My Personal Serving Suggestion: served in a Hot Dog Bun
