SAUSAGE BREAKFAST SCRAMBLE
 

I really like sausage, bacon, ham, fried potatoes and scrambled eggs. If you do too, you might not like the Scrambles. To give all of the Breakfast Scrambles a fair shot, I ate every last bite and the taste wasn't bad but the texture of the eggs was not to my liking. The eggs were on the crumbly side but not dry. They just didn't "feel" like "real" scrambled eggs and that just made the rest not very appetizing.

Now to be fair, these were better than the worst eggs I've ever had out of a 1960s/70s Military C-Ration Meal called Ham & Eggs. Not very appetizing and not very tasty. On the bright side, the Hormel eggs aren’t green like the C-Ration eggs. It was apparant then that you can’t preserve scrambled eggs in a can and to me it looks like you can’t preserve them in plastic long term either.

I may have these on one of my future long term camping menus but the eggs will take some time to get used to. Try them and see what you think

    Not very appetizing when cover comes off !              Stir it up & its a little bit better.

Our organization and members adhere to the standards of "Tread Lightly" and "Leave No Trace".

Jeep Expedition Members enjoy adventures that vary in length from one day, a weekend, long weekend, week long, two weeks and like our Arctic Expedition in 2011, a full month. Don't worry, most of our trips are one day and two day trips. We are Family Friendly and we have a number of members who bring their friendly "Jeep Dogs".
