Equipment Reviews: GSI OUTDOORS COFFEE POT

Here Is What THEY Say About It:

GSI Outdoors Enameled Coffee Pot Equipment Image

GSI Outdoors Enamelware 8 - Cup Percolator. Old - fashioned charm and campsite convenience in one sturdy package! The day has plenty of adventure in store for you... but you won't even THINK about hitting the trail before you have your coffee. This 8-Cup Percolator has what you need to help you get your engine started. Built from heavy-gauge steel for years and years of rugged, outdoor service, it's also been kiln-hardened twice at 1,400 degrees F to stand up to scratches and chipping. 3-ply construction maximizes heat distribution for even cooking. Completed with a classic speckled enamel finish.

  • Beautiful red enamel percolator makes 8 cups of great coffee.
  • Made of steel construction with a classic red enamel coating for extreme durability
  • Dishwater safe and perfectly suited for indoor and outdoor use.
  • The Lexan dome to view the perc is unbreakable and safe
  • Great for outdoor use at the campsite.

Here Is What WE Say About It:

Equipment Image Yippee Ki Yeah! Coffee like the Cowboys had it. Don't you just love the smell of fresh coffee brewing in the morning? I do and I don't even drink it!

GSI Outdoors makes a lot of quality Outdoor cooking equipment, this Red Enamelware Coffee Pot is just one item they have in their line.

Why red and not the classic black/blue like our porcelin enamel pots? Because it looks really good! This is the perfect companion to your Granite-Ware pots reviewed elsewhere in this section. It "nests" perfectly inside your 12 quart pot for easy storage and transport. The baked on enamel coating will last 100 years if taken care of properly.

Performance wise this coffee pot works as well as any other percolator coffee pot. The size is just perfect for the small family and clean up is quick and easy.

So I said earlier that I don't drink coffee, then why buy this? Because it is great for boiling up a smaller quantity of hot water for your freeze dried foods, instant oatmeal, instant coffee, tea and more. No need to fire up the 3 gallon pot for a few cups of water when you need them. Besides my fiancee loves her morning coffee!

Bottom line, this coffee pot is well made and will last a lifetime. You can see similar items used over 100 years ago by pioneers in antique shops that are still in great shape and who knows, 100 years from now, one of my pots might be for sale at the local antique boutique. Seriously though, these pots are top quality and will give you many years of good service. I highly recommend getting one for your Camp Kitchen. Where to buy? The only place I have found the red ones have been on Ebay. You can buy the same model in blue at your local REI Store or online at REI.
