OPTIMATE 6 BATTERY CHARGER, CONDITIONER, MAINTAINER

Here Is What WE Say About It Equipment Image

One of the most important components of any vehicle is the battery. In good condition and fully charged it will start your Jeep and keep all your electrical accessories going. But, when there is a problem, it can leave you stranded.

I’ve learned a lot in the last few years about batteries and Jeeps. My Jeeps have lots of electrical goodies in them from CB and Ham radios, 12v refrigerator/freezers, GPS, ToughBook PC, various chargers and more. All of these items, even when turned off will draw power from your battery. My trail Jeep will have a dead battery after just two weeks sitting in the driveway, it’s just the way it’s been. I’ve also had more than my share of batteries go “bad” before their time. After bad experiences with typical battery chargers by a well known name (three chargers in three years all gone bad) it was time to try something else.

The OptiMate 6 isn’t your usual battery charger. It’s compact, has a high tech look and comes with a three year warranty. I had a three year old famous maker spiral cell AGM battery in the garage that just would not hold a charge overnight anymore. My old charger gave an error code when hooked up to it saying it was not chargeable. The OptiMate 6 literature claims it can bring a battery like this back to life if it is otherwise undamaged. The perfect test subject for my newly acquired OptiMate 6.

The OptiMate 6 lights up as soon as it is plugged in and connected. Be sure to read the instructions (like I didn’t) so you know exactly what all the colorful lights and symbols mean. It began by testing the battery and went to work to charge my ailing battery. This type of job can take 48 hours for the OptiMate 6 to complete and the results are worth the wait. The battery I was going to recycle as junk has been in my TJ for a month now, it starts the Jeep every time and has sat for a week and still starts the engine. For less than half the price of a new battery, my old battery has been resurrected and is again giving me good service. The OptiMate 6 is worth looking into not only as your “battery doctor” but also to keep the battery in your little used toy fully charged and ready for work when you need it.
