           ANTENNA MOUNTS

Click on your "Back/Arrow" to be taken back to the Communications Page "Menu".

The antenna mount above is the Maxi-Mount by K40.

You won't find a mount that can compare to this heavey duty one for the installation of your antenna to a roof rack or mirror mount. It is the one that I prefer when mounting an antenna to a roof rack.

Using a heavy duty Bee Hive mount as shown, this mount will handle any antenna you want to put on it.

This quality mount that will last a lifetime!

What to Look for in an Antenna Mount
  • Made from Stainless Steel or ALuminum inlcuding Springs
  • Make Sure your Adaptor/Mount/Stud Will Work with your Antenna (NMO, 3/8's inch or UHF)
  • Buy Heavy Duty Mounts & Studs
  • Make Sure your Mount won't Interfere w/ any other Part(s)
  • Buy a Mount AFTER you Decide where you are Going to Mount your Antenna
  • Make Sure your Mount won't Interfere w/ any other Part(s)
  • Make sure your Mount is WELL Grounded!
  • STAY AWAY from clamp on, clip on, magnetic or trunk/lip mounts

          OTHER MOUNTS THAT I RECOMMEND:

Wilson has a similar HD Rack Mount.           This mount is great for lift gate vehicles

K40 Rack Mount w/ HD Stud.           Ball Mount for Whips-Sticks-Trucker Antennas

Stainless Steel Springs add Length & Flex.                   Under Hood Mount

Body/Frame Mount.                           Heavy Duty Body/Frame Mount

Fender/Flat Surface Mount.                  Body Mount w/o U-Bolt or Rack Mount

Marine Style UHF Mount (use on roof rack)                  Adjustable Fender Mount

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MOUNTING THE ANTENNA TO THE VEHICLE MOUNT: Most of the time a vehicle mount will already have the adaptor/mount/stud included that the antenna attaches to. Sometimes the mount you want won't have the type of adaptor you need to mount your style of antenna. You may have to customize using two different parts. See the three typical type of adaptors to make your antenna work with your particular vehicle mount. The antenna adaptor/ mount types are show below. The top picture shows the threads at the antenna base the bottom picture shows the threads on the adaptor that attaches your antenna to the vehicle mount.

NMO Type Mount Antenna   -   UHF Type Mount Antenna   -   Stud Type Mount Antenna

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Final Words There are literally hundreds of vehicle mounts that you can buy. A quick trip to you local CB Shop or large Truck Stop will show you plenty of options. There are plenty of custom Jeep mounts for CJ,YJ, TJ and JK using tire carriers, using existing tailgate bolts and more. Do a search online and check out the "Antenna Mounting Locations" section for a look at more mounts and options.
