OFF-ROAD TRAILERS & ACCESSORIES

You see more and more off-roaders pulling custom off-road trailers behind their rigs

These modern Conestoga Wagons come on all sorts of colors, styles and sizes and they can range in price from $3000 to $15,000 or more for a super deluxe model that boasts among other amemities, a heat pump to heat and air condition your roof top tent! They can carry a lot more gear than your Jeep and on extended trips can make things a bit easier to be totally self contained.

You can also build one from scratch or with a surplus military trailer as the base. The US M416 and the Canadian M101 trailers are by far the most popular to start with due to size and weight. They are very heavy duty and as they become more sought out and harder to come by prices for the basic trailer in some areas have shot up to as much as $4500. For that price or anywhere near it, you probably should buy one of the modern versions base model and build it up as I had time money.

There is no end to what you can equip these trailers with from canoe racks, roof top tents, refrigerator/freezers, water tanks, pull out kitchens and more. The sky is the limit as long as money is not object. But the most affordable way to own one if you are on a budget is to get just the trailer with few if any options and then add to it over time.

Equipment featured here is equipment that we have actually used on our trips or on our vehicles. Every item has gotten prolonged, real world use. Some of these reviews go back to 2007 and all of the equipment/items here are still giving good service to Jeep Expeditions members.

The opinions stated here are for informational purposes and are not statements made by experts (what is an expert anyway), we are just real world adventurers looking for equipment that fits our purpose and that we can rely on. We share our experience with YOU so that you can make informed decisions as to the gear you want to purchase.
